This webinar will provide an overview of California housing protections for tenant survivors of domestic and sexual violence using examples of possible real-world situations. These protections include an eviction defense for survivors, the ability to change locks, and a survivor’s right to terminate a lease early. The panelists will also discuss how state law was recently updated to include an additional documentation option for survivors who are being evicted because of the abuse committed against them. Additionally, the webinar will provide a brief overview of federal protections that may be available for survivors. The session will end with a Q&A.
