Please summarize the reasons you are submitting this nomination
I am submitting this nomination for Annie Flores because I believe she will represent an important and informed perspective on the work to end intimate partner violence in California. I have known her as a roll-up-your-sleeves on-the-ground do-er. Annie Flores currently works at the Alameda County Family Justice Center  focusing on victims of domestic violence sexual assault in Alameda County.

Describe this nominee’s participation in the Partnership’s regional networks, policy committees, peer learning circles and other components of our Membership community
Annie Flores has been a participant in CPEDV trainings and has benefited from the communications CPEDV shares on policy, direct service and her East Bay regional activities. Her work is front lines, direct service to domestic violence survivors in Alameda County through her position in the Alameda County Family Justice Center.

Tell us about the nominee’s professional skills in finance, fundraising, government affairs, human resources management, marketing and public relations
Annie holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Mills College and a master’s degree in public health administration from the University of San Francisco.

Annie has worked in public health care policy in Alameda County and San Francisco City and County.

In addition to her work in public policy Annie has led several successful political campaigns, focusing on electing women to public office in the Bay Area.

She is well-versed in Boards and Commissions and has served in the following capacities:

Programs chair for East Bay Women’s Political Caucus, EBWPC, Hispanas Organized for Political Equality, HOPE Greater metropolitan Oakland democratic club MGO ,  LULAC, League of Latin American Citizens and co-chair of California’s PODER-Pac.

Annie Flores currently works at the Alameda County Family Justice Center  focusing on victims of domestic violence sexual assault in Alameda County.

How does this nominee represent California’s rich diversity? How might this person bring underrepresented voices into the center of our work?
Annie Flores has been at the forefront of progressive public health care policy initiatives addressing under-served populations throughout the state of California.  Annie worked for California State Legislature, where she played a key role at the first legislation designed to decriminalize sexually exploited minors SB699,  she then went on to become the Associate Director of the Women’s Economic Agenda Project, WEAP where she focused on economic empowerment and social justice for women in the East Bay.

Annie’s family is originally from El Salvador, she was raised in Brentwood, California.

Please summarize the Partnership’s priorities as you understand them.
The partnership is state wide coalition of best practices around domestic violence prevention .

Describe your leadership experience in business, philanthropy, legal, government and nonprofit sectors.
I currently work in a one stop family justice center, the past decade I have dedicated my life to women leadership in the East Bay I chaired the NWPA for the East Bay for 4 years, building a network of funders and leaders that advance women’s issues focusing on policy and campaigns promoting quality of life for families in the East Bay. The past 4 years  I have been at the forefront of domestic violence working for Alameda County office of the district attorney my unit process domestic violence survivors through the criminal justice system and ensures their safety.

Board members help to foster a positive image of the Partnership. Describe relationships you have with business leaders, policy-makers, media outlets, philanthropists and the broader community. Tell us how you intend to cultivate those relationships on behalf of the Partnership.
I have lead successful political campaigns in the East Bay for the past 10 years I have cultivated unique relationships with our local elected officials, I am trusted and respected. My acceptance to the partnership board would be a public announcement and my first fundraising effort.

Like other nonprofits, Partnership Board members are expected to raise funds on behalf of the organization. What will you do to help us meet our annual fundraising goal?
I’m an experienced fundraiser, phone, social media, events , big events, small events my fundraisers are memorable , fun and financial goals are achieved
