Family Emergency Preparedness is crucial in today’s uncertain times. One aspect of family emergency preparedness is to choose who would be a child’s caretaker if something were to happen to their parent. This webinar will teach advocates how to work with parents to create a temporary childcare custody document, the Childcare Safety Plan (CSP) informing necessary parties of their childcare wishes. The CSP provides the Caregiver Authorization Affidavit as the necessary first step and then optional forms for Nomination of Guardian and Power of Attorney for travel. There is nothing more important than the peace of mind which can come from a parent knowing that they have set forth a solid plan for the care of their children if something were to happen to them.
