State Budget Requests

Read Our May Revise Statement

Against a design of purple, blue, and periwinkle triangles, the State of California is shown in semi-translucent white. Next to it, to the right, white text reads, "Support Sexual & Domestic Violence Prevention Funding". In the top right-hand corner, "#PreventionWorks" is shown in white. At the bottom of the image are the logos for ValorCalifornia (a ValorUS program) and the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence. Our prevention budget request needs your support! The Partnership is continuing our collaboration with ValorCalifornia, a program of ValorUS, in advocating for $15 million in ongoing prevention funding for sexual and domestic violence. California invested $10 million in prevention in FY 18-19 and $5 million in 19-20, but those funds have now been fully expended. Now is the time to prioritize prevention and build upon the existing groundwork and momentum to end sexual and domestic violence. Organizational Sign-on LetterTake Action

In the background, blue and purple triangles transition to orange and green, with a yellow gradient on the right side of the image. Underneath, the State of California is shown in semi-translucent white, with white text next to it that reads, "Support Sexual & Domestic Violence Services Funding". At the bottom are logos for ValorCalifornia (a ValorUS program) and the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence.

The largest federal funding source, the Victims of Crime Act, has declined significantly over the past few years. Without this investment, victim services programs of all kinds, including domestic violence programs, will face cuts beginning next year. We are partnering with ValorUS, Legal Aid Association of California and Children’s Advocacy Centers of California to request $315 million over 3-year spending timeline–the equivalent to the amount Cal OES has indicated is needed to avoid cutting any victim services programs. Fact SheetTake Action!
