From Harming to Healing: the road to transformation for people who cause harm

Join us for a 2 part series where we discuss working with people who have caused harm. Part 1 will discuss the process of creating space for those who have caused and Part 2 will have 3 agencies discussing the services they providing in the community.
Presenter(s):
Neftali Pereda, PsyD, MBA
Dr. Nefta Pereda is the Chief Program Officer at Radiant Futures
( Formerly WTLC) and the Founder and Executive Consultant at
Season 5 Community Consulting. Before joining Radiant Futures,
Dr. Pereda spent 4 years as the Director of Kinship & Parenting
at Olive Crest. Before that, he spent 5 years as Director of
Community Support Services at Boys Town California, and prior to
that spent 8 years as a case manager and therapist in LA County-
5 years of which were in a locked psychiatric facility working
with people with severe mental illness. Dr. Pereda is a lead
instructor of Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT), and
has trained Trauma-informed practices to County staff, Orange
County Probation officers, and OC’s Court Appointed Special
Advocates. Dr. Pereda done numerous presentations and
speakerships throughout California, and has lectured at Ryokan
College of Psychology, California School of Psychology, Loyola
Marymount University, Cal State Long Beach, and USC. Dr. Pereda
received his Bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Cruz. He received a
Master’s degree in Education and Cultural Foundations from Cal
State Long Beach and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from
Ryokan College of Psychology. He also completed a Masters in
Business Administration concentrating on Strategic Communication
from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He’s a native of
South East Los Angeles with proud Mexican roots, and currently
lives in Hacienda Heights, CA with his wife Natalie and his two
sons, Nathanael and Niccolas.
Robin Rush
Robin Rush is Recovery Road’s founding CEO and former Anaheim
Alana Club manager, where she served for over 10 years. Deeply
rooted in her faith, she lives by the motto “Service Above Self”
and is dedicated to helping those who want to help themselves.
Recovery Road began during the pandemic when she provided food,
Naloxone, and basic needs to people. Recovery Road has grown to
support over 100,000 people annually with food, housing, harm
reduction, work skills, and more. Robin’s unwavering commitment
to serving others continues to inspire countless lives. She is a
DV survivor and is in long-term recovery. She has three amazing
children and loves to cruise and enjoys the calming affects of
the vast oeean.
