SafeBAE’s Executive
Director, Shael Norris presented a comprehensive overview of
their materials covering bystander intervention, affirmative
consent, Title IX, supporting survivors, and information about
preventing sexual assault among teens and the rape culture that
leads to it. Participants were introduced to the ways they
can access free resources to utilize in their work with grade
6-12 students and empower them as cultural change leaders.

Shael Norris
Shael has
dedicated her career to ending sexual violence. She is passionate
about empowering young people to be change agents in preventing
violence. She was a founding staffer of V-Day, overseeing the
College and Community Campaigns for 19 years. After decades
of work focused on college sexual assault, she sought a grant to
establish SafeBAE to focus specifically on younger
students. Her three children and dedication to making
schools a safer place was the driving force which lead to the
creation SafeBAE.
